At Hasmonean Primary School our adults must do the following;

All adults who work in school have a responsibility to read and understand our  Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy.

All adults are also expected to read the DfE guidance: Keeping children safe in education. Part 1

Schools have a duty to safeguard children from radicalisation and extremism. This is referred to as Prevent.

Our School has a CPOMS information service and all information including any concerns is raised on CPOMS which is checked regularly by members of the Senior leadership and safeguarding teams.

Online Safety

Hasmonean Primary adheres great importance to online safety for our children. We participate in National Events such as Internet Safety Day, invite in external experts to lead workshops for both children and parents, and every class has an annual unit within Computing/PSHCE that teaches the children online safety skills.

As part of our approach (and following KCSIE 2023), we use LGFL approved filtering for all devices on our network, both fixed and portable. This filtering has been tested and approved using the SWGfL test. Our technical support team (Badger UK) work with us on a day to day basis to resolve any filtering issues if and when they occur. In addition to online filtering, our staff have had training about monitoring and carry out active monitoring of devices during any lessons where these are in use.

Any incidents that occur are treated as safeguarding and are recorded onto our CPOMS system for further action to be taken. We currently monitor monthly and are in the process of setting up a more regular reporting system together with our technical support team to enhance our monitoring even further.
