In 2011/12 the Government launched Pupil Premium funding, an additional grant for pupils eligible for Free School Meals. This was expanded in 2012/2013 to include grants for pupils who have been eligible for Free School Meals within the previous 6 years.
Currently, the following pupils are eligible for Pupil Premium funding:
· Those currently eligible for Free School Meals (FSM)
· Those who have been eligible for FSM within the last 6 years (ever6)
· Those who are Looked After by their Local Authority
· Those who have previously been Looked After by their Local Authority
· Those who have been adopted from within the UK under the Adoption and Children Act 2002
· Those who have been or are currently under a Special Guardianship Order or a Residence Order
· Those whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces
2017/2018
A grant of £30,200 was allocated to Hasmonean Primary for 2017/18 to support 12 pupils on FSM and 5 pupils on ever6. This has been used to support the raising of attainment for these pupils. (The school urges families to register for FSM if applicable in order to achieve the maximum grant).
Objectives:
· Raising attainment of these pupils in all areas of the curriculum with the emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy
· Providing social and emotional support to improve well-being, behaviour and attendance
· Providing funding for trips and visits
· Personalised learning
Pupil Premium spending at our school was used for the following:
· Social skills groups
· Motor skills groups
· Extra curriculum clubs (chess, cookery, chess, sports)
· 1:1 reading practice/recovery programme
· Small group support for Literacy and Numeracy
· Year 6 booster class support for Literacy and Numeracy
· Small group 1:1 support for Literacy and Numeracy from SENCO
· Breakfast and homework clubs
· Financial support for both day and residential school trips
All children progressed well at Hasmonean Primary school. Our tracking systems indicate that pupils receiving Pupil Premium funding in years 1-6 have all benefitted from the additional support made possible through this allocation as indicated below:
